Students at the University of Victoria disrupted a board of governors meeting on campus Tuesday, demanding the school take a firm stance on the conflict in the Middle East.
A video posted to Instagram show the board attempting to continue with the meeting while a student loudly asks UVic president Kevin Hall to respond to their concerns regarding the conflict.
“President Kevin Hall, how much longer are you going to ignore the calls of your students asking you to condemn the genocide of Palestinians,” the student said.
“On Friday we came to your building and you locked us out. We demand an answer. You owe us a response and we expect a response.”

Shortly after the disruption, the meeting was adjourned.
The group, UVic Students in Solidarity with Palestine, has organized multiple walkouts on campus.
The group is also demanding the university divest about $15 million invested in companies it says have links to Israel’s military and police apparatus.
