One man is in hospital in stable condition following what was described as a major crime by Victoria police.
Police responded following multiple 911 calls about an alleged assault in the 900 block of Mason Street in Victoria on Aug. 12, in the afternoon. The street remained closed for several hours while the investigation took place.
Later that evening, police located the suspect and took him into custody. Charges are now pending for aggravated assault.
Both men from Victoria were in their 30s and were known to each other. Police say the incident began as an altercation between the two.
First responders originally feared that the victim may lose his eye, but later learned that he will get to keep it.
