Victoria Police are looking for a man and woman suspected of being behind a drug trafficking operation.

According to a VicPD press release, officers with their Strike Force unit seized multi-coloured, branded drugs as they conducted an investigation into a stolen property and drug trafficking operation.

Police say Strike Force officers began the investigation into drug and stolen property trafficking out of a suite in a house in the 1100-block of Kings Road in mid-April. However, during the investigation, the two suspects – a man and a woman – moved to a residential building in the 3200-block of Quadra Street.

Despite the move, officers with the Strike Force unit continued the investigation, which, according to the release, showed that a drug trafficking operation was still continuing to be conducted by the man and woman at their new location.

On April 30, Strike Force officers, along with members from the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team and the Saanich Police conducted a search warrant at the home and found “significant amounts” of drugs including methamphetamine, cocaine, psilocybin, and fentanyl.

The man and woman suspected of being behind the operation were not home during the time of the raid.

“Officers noted that the drug traffickers had colour-coded their drugs, essentially branding their product,” the release said.

A total of 600 grams of fentanyl in “unique” colours, 300 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of psilocybin, 30 grams of cocaine as well as approximately $10,000 cash, shotgun ammunition and two imitation firearms were seized. Significant quantities of cutting agents, cooking supplies, dyes and drying equipment were also seized.

Officers also located a plethora of suspected stolen property including jewelry, clothing with price and security tags still affixed, and small kitchen appliances, the release notes.

“VicPD’s Strike Force is a covert investigation and operations unit. While Strike Force officers continue to focus on prolific property offenders, in the past three weeks officers have noted a significant connection to the drug trade. Each time officers have conducted a stolen property search warrant they have located significant amounts of drugs,” the release said.

Police are recommending four charges be brought against the man and woman, both from Victoria, according to the release. The man is facing additional charges for violating court-ordered conditions.

VicPD say they are still looking for the man and woman and believe they are “evading” officers and warrants for their arrest are currently being sought.

Additional information about the two suspects, such as descriptions, were not provided.
