
Victoria Police responded to two crashes one block apart on Blanshard and Quadra, Friday afternoon.
The first crash was in the 3000-block of Quadra Street. Police originally said it was reported that one of the vehicles in the crash may have hit a residence, but a CHEK News reporter attended the scene and found the driver of the vehicle had hit a signpost.

According to ICBC’s crash map, the intersection of Finlayson and Quadra had 80 crashes between 2017 and 2021.
One block over at Blanshard and Finlayson streets, police were responding to another crash which resulted in Finlayson being closed at Blanshard. However, the incident was later cleared and traffic through the area resumed.

ICBC’s crash map says there have been 193 crashes at this intersection between 2017 and 2021.
Earlier, Saanich Police were also responding to a crash that impacted traffic on the Pat Bay Highway.

At this intersection, there were 10 crashes between 2017 and 2021, according to ICBC’s crash map.
