UPDATE: VicPD announced late Monday night that the motorcyclist had died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
Two people have taken to hospital Monday evening after a collision between a car and a motorcycle at View and Cook streets.
Victoria police said both the motorcyclist and someone in the car were transported to hospital. The motorcyclist has life-threatening injuries.
The collision occurred just before 5 p.m.
Traffic is being rerouted around the intersection, which is closed. Victoria police said Cook Street is also shut down between Fort and Yates streets as they investigate. A collision reconstruction team is at the intersection.
