Oak Bay police outside Haro Apartments on Beach Drive after two bodies were discovered on Dec. 25. A third person was taken to hospital.

Authorities suspect foul play in the death of two people whose bodies were found in Oak Bay.

On Dec 25, at around 5 p.m. Oak Bay police were notified of a potential incident and subsequently checked Haro Apartments, at the 1400 block of Beach Drive in Oak Bay.

As of Monday night, the west side of the building was surrounded by police tape.

Officers then discovered the bodies of two people and one injured person.

Police said the injured individual has been taken to hospital and their condition is unknown.

At this time, authorities are not disclosing any information about the individuals involved nor any additional information about the incident.

The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) has been called in to take over the investigation.

Foul play is suspected, however Oak Bay police said there is no reason to believe that the public is at risk.

The scene is currently contained and area residents can expect this to continue throughout the night, and/or as long as is required by investigators.
