Two arrested after theft of electric downriggers at Comox Marina

Police said two people are facing theft charges after electric downriggers were stolen from the Comox Marina on May 26.

Comox Valley RCMP said the suspects were identified after police received a report of the theft from the marina, which is located on Port Augusta Street in Comox.

Then on June 5, the suspects were seen walking together along 20th Street in Courtenay. Police said one of the suspects ran away, while the other remained and was arrested.

The suspect who ran away was found by police a short time later and was also arrested.

Jenna Usipuik has been charged with theft under $5,000, break and enter and possession of counterfeit currency.

Cameron Sebastian is charged with theft under $5,000 and break and enter.

Sebastian and Usipuik remain in police custody.
