The Prime Minister will be giving a COVID-19 update on Monday morning following a call with the country's premiers.

The Prime Minister will be giving a COVID-19 update on Monday morning following a call with the country’s premiers.

Justin Trudeau is expected to deliver his national address at 8:15 a.m. PT on Monday. You can watch his statement live on the CHEK News Facebook Page or our YouTube Channel.

Over the weekend, Canada’s total confirmed cases of COVID-19 rose to nearly 1,500 with the death toll reaching 20 people.

Here in British Columbia the case total is sitting at 424 as of Sunday evening with a total of 10 deaths.

Trudeau’s announcement will be followed by an update from BC Health Minister Adrian Dix and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry on the situation in British Columbia. That announcement expected to come at 10:00 a.m. PT

Then at noon, BC Premier John Horgan and Finance Minister Carole James will be providing details of the province’s economic relief plan for residents and businesses.

An update will be provided following Trudeau’s announcement at 8:15 a.m. PT.
