Truck collision and rollover blocks Southbound lanes on McKenzie overpass

A motor vehicle accident has blocked two southbound lanes towards Admirals Road on the McKenzie overpass this afternoon.

Images show a dump truck with a smashed front-end and Sysco delivery truck on its side.

First responders are on scene.

Video shows one person being wheeled away by fire crews on a stretcher, and police rerouting traffic.

It isn’t clear what caused the incident, but snap-shots from DriveBC’s website give us a glimpse into the time that it took place.

CHEK has reached out to Saanich Police for more information, but have not received an update at this time.

As of 2:26 p.m., only a single Northbound lane is open, heading towards McKenzie Avenue.
