Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public to be on the lookout for a three-wheel bicycle that was stolen from a local man who has significant mobility issues and uses the bike for daily activities.

Police said the bike was stolen on Nov. 6 from outside the man’s home on Bowen Road. The bike is purple with a wire basket on the front and another on the back. It has “Satellite Tracking Skulls” decals on the frame and the back of the seat. No serial number was available to police.

Const. Gary O’Brien, media relations officer for the Nanaimo RCMP, said the owner of the bike has experienced many personal hardships in recent years but maintains a positive outlook.

“Many of our officers have had the opportunity to meet him and are touched by his outlook and ability to face head on his daily struggles. He’s just a good guy who needs a break,” O’Brien said in a statement.
