Authorities say an estimated $14,000 worth of eyewear was stolen early Wednesday morning from a business in Comox.

Police say a suspect entered Visionworks Optometry in the 2200-block of Guthrie Road and stole several racks of glasses and 44 pairs of Maui Jim sunglasses.

Officers with Comox Valley RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter at the business and were able to obtain an image of the suspect and an associated truck.

The Integrated Forensic Identification Section and Crime Reduction Units are both working on the investigation.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help to locate the suspect.

“We are looking for witnesses who were in the area during the early morning hours and who may have observed a person or a vehicle around Visionworks,” Comox Valley RCMP Cst. Monika Terragni said in a release.

“Additionally, if anyone was driving through the area around that time and has a dashcam, please check your footage for images of the suspect or associated truck.”

Police are asking anyone with information to call Comox Valley RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
