Two thieves got away with quite the haul in the early morning hours of June 9, stealing an entire ATM machine from the Cowichan Liquor Store by towing it out of the shop with a truck.

The North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are asking for the public’s help, asking for any information you may have about a break and enter.

At approximately 2:30 am, surveillance video shows a dark red Ford pickup truck backing into the glass of the Duncan store, shattering the storefront.

Once inside, the two suspects strapped the ATM to the truck and drove the vehicle out and towing the ATM behind.

The dragged ATM caused thousands of dollars worth of damage along the way and was never located by police.

Months later, the RCMP is asking that anyone who may have information about the possible truck used, the suspects, or if you had been in the area during this time or noticed anything suspicious to please contact police.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP can be reached at 250-748-5522. The file number to refer to is 2020-8783. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at cowciahncrimestoppers.com to leave a tip online.
