WATCH: The journey to the Victoria HarbourCats for Adriel Quesada Pena and Alejandro Ortega Lopez began three years ago with a nice gesture from a Chemainus baseball team.

The duo makes up the first Cubans to ever play in the West Coast League. Due to travel restrictions to the United States, Adriel and Alejandro will be limited to playing games in Canada. The Victoria HarbourCats open their season Friday night against the Wenatchee Applesox at 6:35 p.m. at Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park.
