The Ruby on Douglas has been closed since March 17, 2020, and announced today the restaurant will be reopening on March 1.
Back when the COVID-19 pandemic first hit, restaurants were ordered to close indoor dining, and The Ruby made the decision to close both of its locations for the time being.
After some time, The Ruby on Johnson was able to reopen while following pandemic restrictions, but the Douglas location remained closed.
In an Facebook post announcing the location would reopen, the page says it remained closed due to the size of the restaurant.
Now with the province lifting capacity restrictions on restaurants, the restaurant’s first location is able to reopen.
“We love The Ruby on Douglas as it is our first born and it became a place where people gathered, relationships were formed and memories were made,” the Facebook post says. “With that, we are pleased to announce WE ARE BACK!!!”
