Teen suffers serious injuries after falling from cliff at Thetis Lake

Firefighters and paramedics were called to Thetis Lake on Wednesday afternoon for a teen with serious injuries after falling from a cliff.

View Royal’s fire chief, Paul Hurst, tells CHEK News this is the first cliff injury at Thetis in two years.

The teenager, an exchange student, slipped and fell from the 40-foot cliff. He hit the cliff face several times in the fall, and suffered fractures and head injuries.

The injuries are considered serious but non-life threatening.
