Ali Hasan took a commanding lead and never looked back on Thursday as he made it three wins in a row on Jeopardy!

The secondary school teacher from New Westminster entered the final round with $21,700 and a lead of $10,500.

Surprisingly, not one of the three contestants got the right answer to the final Jeopardy! question in the category of World Geography, “Australia’s fourth-largest city, it’s at the southern end of the road called Indian Ocean Drive.”

Hasan answered “What is Darwin?”, the correct answer was “What is Perth?”

After betting only $701, he walked away the winner for a third straight night.

He added another $20,999 to his winnings which now total $67,801.

He will go for win #4 on Friday evening when one of his opponents will be another Canadian, Jordan Nussbaum of Thornhill, Ontario.

“You’re spending a lot of time in Southern California” host Alex Trebek told Hasan as the show ended.

Jeopardy! and Trebek are in their 34th season in syndication.

With 23 million viewers each week, Jeopardy! is the top-rated quiz show on television.

Jeopardy! airs on CHEK from Monday to Saturday at 7:30 p.m
