Canada stamps are getting a taste of Vancouver Island.
On April 17, Canada Post will release a booklet of 10 Sweet Canada stamps for $9 that features designs of five Canadian desserts. The desserts are Nanaimo bars, Saskatoon berry pie, butter tarts, tarte au sucre (sugar pie) and blueberry grunt. The stamps, which were illustrated by Mary Ellen Johnsonn, will be arranged on a recipe card background.

“Rich and chocolatey Nanaimo bars have been associated with their namesake Vancouver Island city since the no-bake recipe first appeared there in the 1950s,” Canada Post wrote on their website.
The stamps are domestic and priced as permanent. There will also be souvenir sheets available for $4.50 and $5.50.
