Victoria Police are asking for help to identify a suspect in an indecent act in Cook Street Village Thursday night.

A woman reported to police just before 8:45 p.m. that she was driving her vehicle on Cook Street when she noted a man waiting to cross at the intersection at Oscar Street.

VicPD says she stopped for the man, who began to cross and then stopped in front of her vehicle, turned to face her, and exposed himself.

The man fled the area and police say the woman was not physically harmed in the incident.

Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian man, 35-to-40 years-old, standing five feet, ten inches tall, with a medium build, weighing about 180 pounds.

He was wearing a black baseball cap turned backwards, a black Under Armour brand shirt and black shorts.

VicPD says the woman also told officers the suspect had a distinctive stride as he ran away, running “tip-toed”, such as that his heels did not touch the ground.

If anyone recognizes the man or has more information about the incident, you are asked to call Victoria Police at (250) 995-7654, or anonymously to Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
