VicPD say that Major Crime Investigators working with the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team arrested Tyler Wardrope without incident at a residence in Highlands early Wednesday morning.
Wardrope, who is in his late 20’s, faces charges of attempted murder, careless use or storage of a firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Officers were called to the 1500-block of Bay, between Forbes and Victor, on Tuesday, August 6, just after 12:45 p.m. for reports of gunfire.
They found a man in his early 40’s had been wounded, he was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
VicPD say he continues to recover from his wounds.
At the time of shooting, police said it was not a random act.
The street was closed off and people asked to stay in their homes for several hours before the all clear was given around 3:30 p.m.
