A 35-year old man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery and an earlier assault at an ATM in Duncan on Tuesday.

Police were called to the Bank of Montreal on Station Street in Duncan around 7:20 a.m. after a woman was assaulted.

The 51-year old was completing some bank transactions when she was attacked.

She was taken to a Duncan area hospital to be treated for her injuries which are believed to be non-life threatening.

Then around 1 p.m., a lone man entered the Coronation Market in Duncan and robbed the store owner.

He tried to leave the area with an undisclosed amount of money but was held there by the store owners and witnesses.
