West Shore RCMP has arrested a man a few days after he brandished a machete and robbed a Canadian Tire in Langford.
The incident took place on November 1 when RCMP officers received a report of a robbery at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The man, identified as 32-year-old John Crawford of Langford, reportedly brandished a machete and challenged staff after he was confronted for allegedly shoplifting.
Before RCMP officers arrived on scene, the man fled through the receiving door, with a nail-pulling tool, and jumped a fence.
No staff were physically harmed during the incident.
On Thursday morning, West Shore RCMP say they the Crime Reduction Unit was able to locate Crawford and arrest him without incident.
A detailed report was forwarded to BC Prosecution Service who has approved criminal charges against Crawford.
