Surveillance video released in search for Langford carjacking suspect

West Shore RCMP are still looking for a suspect in a carjacking in Langford on Dec. 17, 2018.

At 9 p.m. on Dec. 17, West Shore RCMP received a 911 call about a robbery and theft of a Nissan Versa near the Millstream Village McDonald’s. When police arrived, a 52-year-old man reported being carjacked while sitting idle in a parking lot.

According to police, the man was robbed after the suspect opened the man’s car door, grabbed him by the shoulders and threw him out of the vehicle onto the ground. The suspect then drove away, nearly hitting the man.

The man received minor injuries to his wrist, elbow and hip. He was taken to hospital.

Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers has now posted surveillance video of the carjacking. The suspect is described as Caucasian, 5’7,” 160 pounds, and 30 to 40 years old. He was wearing a black jacket, white pants, beige boots and a black toque.

The car that was stolen was a white 2009 Nissan Versa with the B.C. licence plate: FL541W and a parking pass saying “U85” in the rear window.
