North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are hoping to identify a person of interest in a suspicious car fire.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are seeking a man they describe as ‘person of interest’ who was seen driving away from the area of a suspicious car fire around the time it happened last month.

On May 31 around 8:30 p.m., officers were called to the Duncan Walmart parking lot at 3020 Drinkwater Road for a vehicle fire.

After officers reviewed video surveillance, they identified a person of interest who exited the store and drove away in a truck around the same time.

The person of interest is described as a man between 40-50 years old, medium build, wearing a CAT brand baseball cap.

The truck he drove away in is possibly an older model GMC truck, that is blue or silver in colour with a silver headache rack.

Anyone who has information is asked to call North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at (250)-748-5522.
