Sunny weather draws crowds to Fisherman’s Wharf in downtown Victoria

WATCH: What could be better than a beautiful clear Friday right before the weekend? Aaron Guillen went to find out what islanders are getting up to.

Seals, sweets, and sun make for a perfect day in Victoria.

“We’re from out of town,” says a mother and daughter duo from Dawson Creek.

Visitors from Dawson Creek say they came to Fisherman’s Wharf because of the great weather.

“This is our last day in Victoria so we came to the Wharf for Barb’s Fish and ice cream.”

“I’m one of those people that don’t like it when it’s burning hot or really cold so it’s perfect for me,” says a woman who that hasn’t visited the wharf in years.

“We’re gonna take the water taxi, walk around, there’s so much we can’t even cope,” says another eagerly.

And just like the weather, the sailing season is starting to improve.

“We had lots of people this week during spring break,” says Murray Anderson, Captain for Victoria Harbour Ferry.

Murray Anderson, from Victoria Harbour Ferry, says he never gets tired of his job.

“Once it warms up it’s great. It gets hectic, but never too hectic.”

When the sun comes out, Murray not only enjoys the freedom to sail on the open water, but also getting to meet new faces.

“The neatest thing though is you meet different people every day. That’s the best part of it.”

As long as the passengers keep coming, he can’t think of a better way to sail into retirement.

Make sure you get outside and enjoy the sun while it’s still here because starting next Monday, the rain will start coming down. Don’t let the sunny opportunity to fade away.
