WatchThe iPhone 7 stolen from a car parked in the Royal Jubilee Hospital parking garage contained pictures of the couple's baby that died at birth as well as an audio recording of its heartbeat from an earlier ultrasound.

Shyanne Palmer was visiting her partner Evan at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria when someone broke into her car Thursday night and stole her iPhone 7.

“She came out and the car had been broken into. Everything was ransacked in the car,” said her mother Diane Palmer.

It was a gold-coloured iPhone 7. She wasn’t using it anymore but what was on it was priceless.

“It had her baby that had passed away shortly after birth, it had audio of his heartbeat and it had his pictures on it,” said Palmer.

Irreplaceable photos of the baby and a recording of its beating heart from a previous ultrasound were gone.

The theft came after a freak accident that put Evan in hospital a week and a half ago.

Evan was at work on November 28th logging near Campbell River when he was hit by a chainsaw being used by someone nearby. The person lost control of the saw and it hit Evan’s leg below the knee, nearly severing his leg.

Doctors weren’t initially sure if he would survive and he was flown to Royal Jubilee Hospital for advanced care.

A Gofundme page was set up to help his young family.

The stolen phone is now an added blow and if anyone finds it they are asked to return it to the ‘Lost and Found’ at Royal Jubilee Hospital.
