Spritzing, mizzle, sprinkles or 'dritz'? What word would be better than drizzle?
CHEK
WatchIs the word drizzle too depressing? What do you think would be a better option? Tess van Straaten takes a look at some suggestions to replace the dreaded D-word.

A CHEK viewer on Pender Island challenged Tess van Straaten to come up with a more positive word to replace “drizzle”.

Donna wrote us to say drizzle just sounds too depressing.

With some help from viewers on social media, we came up with the following options:

  • Mizzle — which is actually a weather term meaning mist and drizzle
  • Spritzing — which sounds refreshing and fun
  • Irish Mist or Scottish Mist
  • Sprinkles — pretty hard for sprinkles to be depressing
  • Dritz — drizzle’s hipper cousin

Let us know what you think! Email us at [email protected] and we’ll announce the winner Sunday on CHEK News at 5 p.m.
