This story has been updated to reflect the road has reopened. The original version is preserved below.
A commercial truck’s load shifted while travelling on Sooke Road, and traffic will be down to single-lane alternating traffic until the situation can be resolved.
Emcon Services says it happened between Ayton Road and Jacklin Road.

Emcon says there is no estimated time the highway will reopen at this time, but that a tow truck is on scene to assist.
“There is a tow truck on site trying to help get the load shifted back safely on the vehicle, and move the vehicle out of the travelled portion of the road,” said Andrew Gaetz operations manager in an email to CHEK. “We are hoping to have it cleared up soon.”
Transportation BC says the highway eastbound is blocked due to the truck.
