A man from Sooke is feeling very “surreal” after winning $100,000 from a Set for Life Scratch & Win ticket.

Colin Davidson, a resident of Sooke on Vancouver Island, is the lucky purchaser of the winning ticket, which he bought from Pharmasave on West Coast Road in Sooke.

“I remember scratching this ticket…and I remember feeling like it wasn’t true,” Davidson recalled. “I had to look at the back of the ticket to make sure that I wasn’t fooling myself…it feels so surreal!”

Following the win, Davidson said one of the first things he did was tell his partner the news.

“I asked them to look to make sure it was real and get a new set of eyes to look it over. When we realized we won, we did a happy dance. It was quite an enjoyable afternoon,” he said.

Davidson says he enjoys playing the lottery for fun on a routine basis.

“It’s like a five-minute fantasy where you can dream about what you would do if you won,” Davidson said.

Now Davidson no longer has to dream what he would do with winnings after the successful ticket purchase. He says he plans to put his prize towards home renovations and will invest in his daughter’s education.
