Sooke district councillor Brenda Parkinson passes away

Sooke district councillor Brenda Parkinson has died three months after being diagnosed with brain cancer.

The 63 year old was known for being a champion of the arts community and was an artist herself.

Parkinson was first elected as a Sooke councillor in 2005. Then again in 2014 and 2018.

After her death Friday, tributes from friends and fellow politicians have been pouring in, saying her contributions to the community will not be forgotten.
