A man wearing a ski mask threatened employees with a weapon at a Port Alberni 7-Eleven before making off with an undisclosed amount of money, according to RCMP.
Officers were called to the 7-Eleven on Redford Street just before 10 p.m. Sunday for a report of an armed robbery, RCMP said in a news release.
“A male suspect, wearing a ski mask, allegedly produced an edged weapon and demanded money. The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money,” police said.
No injuries were reported by 7-Eleven staff. Officers tried to track the suspect down with a police dog but could not find him.
He was seen on surveillance cameras wearing a black ski mask, blue sweatshirt and green camouflage pants, according to police.
Anyone who has information on the suspect’s identity is asked to call RCMP at 250-723-2424.
