A 28-year-old Indigenous woman is missing and may have suffered a serious injury, according to Nanaimo RCMP.

Kyneasha Lucas hasn’t been seen or heard from since Monday, Feb. 20, and efforts to locate her, including a check at the Nanaimo hospital, have been unsuccessful, RCMP say in a news release.

Investigators also received information around midnight Monday that the missing woman may have been seriously injured.

“Given that she cannot be located there is significant concern for her safety and well-being,” police said.

Nanaimo RCMP is now appealing to the public for information on Lucas’s whereabouts.

She is described as 5’5″ tall, 190 pounds, with long brown/blonde hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Lucas’s whereabouts is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.
