Early morning on Feb. 12, Nanaimo RCMP officers were called to an apartment building on Uplands Drive for shots fired — and when they arrived they found it was actually BB guns.

The report came in at 2:20 a.m. in the 4700 block of Uplands Drive. When officers arrived at the suspected unit, a woman answered the door.

The woman was arrested and removed from the apartment, then officers went inside and arrested three more adults.

Officers then noticed what appeared to be a long gun and multiple hand guns on a bed, then when they got closer they realized the guns were BB guns.

“Officers believed that no shots were actually fired however there had been a small disturbance that led to police being called,” RCMP said in a news release.

The BB guns were seized and destroyed, and the four arrested adults were released at the scene with no charges.
