
The Victoria Shamrocks grabbed an early lead in the best of seven Mann Cup national lacrosse championship series after a 13-6 win Friday night.
The Shamrocks defeated the Peterborough Lakers in game one at the Q-Centre in Colwood.
Connor Robinson and Chris Bouchy both recorded hat-tricks in the Victoria win
Shamrocks’ goalie Peter Dubenski stopped 61 of 67 Lakers’ shots he faced in the contest.
Victoria directed 53 shots on the Peterborough goal.
The Shamrocks are looking for its first Mann Cup title since 2015 when they defeated the Lakers.
Peterborough has won the last two national lacrosse titles.
The Shamrocks will have a shot at taking a two-nothing series lead Saturday night, starting at 7 p.m. at the Q-Centre.
