A major Nanaimo street was closed Thursday afternoon after a car crashed into the side of a home.
Firefighters were called to the crash in the 100-block of Victoria Street around 2:45 p.m.
Two people were inside the car at the time of the crash. Police believe one of the occupants may have had a medical emergency, causing the collision.
Otherwise, police at the scene told CHEK News that no one was injured.
However, the crash did cause damage to a gas metre in the area.
Several neighbors were evacuated because of the damage, and BC Hydro and Fortis BC were at the scene, shutting off gas to eliminate the risk of an explosion.
Victoria Street reopened to vehicles near Prideaux Street before 7:30.
