People hoping to pay for things on their credit and debit cards on Saturday may have run into issues while using machines operated by Moneris.
On Friday, the Moneris system was down for about an hour, causing issues for places ranging from small businesses to BC Ferries.
At the time, it said a “network outage” had been identified but was resolved.
On Saturday, the company said more issues were popping up, though it didn’t go as far as saying there was a network outage once again.
“Moneris is currently experiencing intermittent network slowness that may impact transactions. All systems are operational and we are monitoring closely,” said the company in a social media post shortly before 12:30 p.m.
BC Ferries once again ran into issues with its debit and payment card systems because of the outage.
Shortly after noon, it said its payment system was experiencing issues fleet-wide, but that crews were completing transactions manually.
By 1:30 p.m., it said its credit and debit card payment system issues had been resolved.
Moneris says it supports more than 325,000 merchant locations across Canada.
