The B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is reminding cyclists and pedestrians that sections of the Galloping Goose Regional Trail will be closed at the McKenzie Interchange construction site through the end of November 2019.

Pedestrians and cyclists can detour around the closures by taking Burnside Road via Belgrave Road on the west and where Burnside Road meets the trail on the east. Detours will be marked with signs.

Students who access area schools via the pedestrian overpass over Highway 1 can continue to do so and are asked to obey signage and the direction of traffic control personnel.

The ministry said the closures will allow crews to finish paving the trail while minimizing nightly disruptions to people in the area.

Detour maps can be found on the project’s website.
