A 39-year-old man from Saanich has died following a crash in View Royal over the weekend.
On May 31 at approximately 2:26 p.m., West Shore RCMP responded to a “serious” collision involving a Toyota RAV4 and a motorcycle on Six Mile Road in View Royal, resulting in three people being taken to hospital.
A portion of Six Mile Road, between Old Island Highway and Atkins Avenue, was closed for several hours following the crash.
In a media release issued June 1, West Shore RCMP said the driver of the motorcycle — a 39-year-old Saanich man — died, while the two occupants of the RAV4 were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and were later released
The BC Coroners Service has been notified and is now investigating.
Meanwhile, West Shore RCMP say they are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
