A stretch of Prospect Lake Road will be closed to through traffic starting Aug. 29.

A section of Prospect Lake Road is closing for the entire month of September as construction crews roll out infrastructure improvements, according to the District of Saanich.

In a news release Monday, the district says Prospect Lake Road between Goward Road and West Saanich Road will be closed 24/7 to through traffic between Aug. 29 and Sept. 30.

However, local traffic will be maintained.

According to the district, the scope of the work includes full-width road reconstruction and new pavement in the affected area.

“This will include improvements to traffic flow with safe access in all directions by pedestrians, cyclists and motorists to the Prospect Lake Elementary School, nearby businesses and the Interurban trail,” states a post to Saanich.ca

Infrastructure upgrades are also underway on nearby Sparton Road, with a closure remaining in effect until Sept. 2.
