WATCH: Transient killer whales hunting stellar sea lions are in for a big surprise and it was all caught on video.

Incredible footage of a group of sea lions coming to the rescue of another sea lion being hunted by killer whales is making headlines.

The footage shows the lucky sea lion making a very narrow escape.

Western Prince Whale Watching was out keeping track of a group of Bigg’s killer whales as they began hunting some stellar sea lions.

That’s when they spotted 20 or more sea lions coming to the rescue of one of their own, who was caught in a precarious spot.

The sea lions grouped together, watching for killer whales, and when they were close enough, the sea lion in danger made a break for it and swam into the safety of the group.

The orcas watched the sea lions group briefly, before giving up and leaving.
