A woman in Lantzville is a little richer these days.
Barbara Don recently was recently at Save-On-Foods on Island Highway North in Nanaimo grabbing a lottery ticket for her mother’s birthday when she decided to get on herself.
Lucky for her, the Scratch & Win ticket she bought for herself ended up being a winner — a $100,000 jackpot winner to be exact.
“I scanned it on my phone and stared at the screen thinking this can’t be real,” Don said in a BCLC press release about her winnings. “I was in disbelief. I thought I was reading the whole ticket wrong.”
To celebrate her big win, Don took her mother for a celebratory birthday dinner.
“I am happy picking up the dinner tabs for my friends and family with this special win,” Don said.
In addition to sharing her win with her loved ones, Don says plans on putting a portion of it towards building her dream home.
