School District 63 says that Saanich Schools will remain closed on Monday, Nov. 4, as a strike of unionized support workers continues into its second week.

CUPE 441 proceeded with strike action starting on Monday, Oct. 28 as they pursued wage increases they say would bring them into parity with neighbouring school districts.

The District says that the parties continue to remain engaged in negotiations, but there is no agreement yet in place.

They say that the notification that schools will remain closed is being posted now to ensure that parents/guardians have as much notice as possible.

Should the status change, the District says they will update their website immediately at www.sd63.bc.ca.
