Salt Spring RCMP say a man wanted in relation to child pornography charges has been spotted on the island.
Jimmy Pieschke, 39, is wanted in connection with several child pornography offences in Quebec for which he has already plead guilty. However, he failed to show up for his recent court appearance, leading to the issuance of a warrant for his arrest. Police say Pieschke was last seen on Salt Spring Island during the evening of Feb. 10, but his current whereabouts are unknown.
Authorities are asking the public to keep an eye out for the man.
The news release from police describes Pieschke as the following:
- Caucasian male,
- 5 foot 11 inches tall (180 cm),
- 166 lbs (75 kg),
- Hazel or greenish-blue eyes
- Brown hair.
Pieschke also goes by “James” or Jimmy “Leduc”.
If you have information on his current whereabouts, please call the Salt Spring Island RCMP. If you see Pieschke, do not approach him and immediately dial 9-1-1.
