The District of Saanich announced in a press release that it will reopen the Cedar Hill Golf Course on May 5.

Residents in the Greater Victoria will soon be able to hit the links at a popular golf course starting tomorrow.

The District of Saanich announced in a press release that it will reopen the Cedar Hill Golf Course on May 5. The publically-owned course had been closed since March 23 due to the COVID-19.

“We are thrilled to be able to reopen the golf course and provide another safe outdoor space for the community,” Saanich Mayor Fred Haynes said in the release. “We have appreciated the community’s interest in the course and pathways and their understanding of the closures that were in place.”

In response to COVID-19, the course won’t be providing scorecards or pencils and there will be no food or beverage services. Walk-ons will not be permitted and power carts are now only for single players or those within the same household.

Cedar Hill is also extending the amount of time between tee times and banning access to gathering places.

“The golf course will reopen in accordance with best practices outlined by the National Golf Course Owners Association of Canada,” the district said in its release.
