A Saanich Police vehicle was involved in a collision with an SUV on Blanshard Street.

In pictures posted online, the SUV is seen on a curb in the intersection with damage to the front, and a Saanich Police vehicle is nearby with damage to the driver’s side front wheel.

Saanich Police say Blanshard Street (South) at Ravine Way is closed due to the incident.

Traffic is being diverted at Pat Bay Highway and McKenzie Avenue.

Staff Seargent Andy Stuart with Saanich Police tells CHEK News the road is expected to be closed for two to three hours.

Stuart says the cause is yet to be determined and crash reconstruction experts are on scene.

No one was injured in the crash, according to Stuart.

Rob Charlton tells CHEK News he was in the Tim Hortons and heard sirens, then a big crash when the two vehicles collided.

He says he spoke with the woman who was driving the SUV who said she she did not hear the sirens. She told him she was wondering why people were stopped, then continued through the intersection since she had a green light.

Charlton says there were no passengers in the SUV, just the driver.

This is a developing story. More details will be provided when they become available.
