Saanich Police says 75-year-old Ruizhen Wu was spotted in the Cordova Bay area around 1:30 pm on Thursday

Saanich police are asking for help finding a 75-year-old woman who was last seen Thursday morning going for her daily walk.

Authorities say because Ruizhen Wu lives with Alzheimer’s. There are fears she may be disoriented.

Wu was last seen around 9:30 a.m. getting ready for her walk and her last whereabouts was Rogers Avenue and Quadra Street.

Saanich Police say further information including photos and video show her in the Cordova Bay area (Westport Place) around 1:30 p.m.

She may be seeking shelter in unusual places such as yards or garages.

Police describe Wu as a Chinese woman, about 165 centimetres tall, with short black hair and she has a distinct limp as she walks.

She was last seen wearing a burgundy coat with black dots, blue or black pants and black shoes.

“Currently, the Saanich Police Uniform Division, Detective Division and Search and Rescue (PEMO) are actively searching for Wu,” said A/Staff Sergeant Damian Kowalewich.

“We are asking residents of Saanich and Greater Victoria to be on the lookout for Mrs. WU so she can receive a medical assessment and then be reunited with her family.”
