Saanich police are investigating a report of a sexual assault that allegedly took place north of the Uptown Shopping Centre Saturday afternoon.
The alleged incident occurred in the 3600 block of Highway 17. According to police, the suspect in the alleged sexual assault was recently acquainted with the person who reported the incident.
Saanich police said they are aware that some people on social media are suggesting the alleged incident happened in Regina Park’s tent city. However, police said they can confirm the reported incident did not occur at that location.
The investigation is ongoing. No other details about the alleged assault have been released by police at this time.
