Saanich PD issue alert after cougar reportedly spotted near Rithet’s Bog Park

There have been multiple cougar sightings in Saanich lately.

According to the Saanich Police Department, three people reported seeing a cougar around the 900-block of Owlwood Place, near Rithet’s Bog Park, yesterday.

Police are reminding residents to be alert and keep their pets inside for the time being.

Data available on the Wildlife Alert Reporting Program’s website shows three cougar sightings were reported in Saanich on Monday, including the alleged sighting at Owlwood Place.

The other sightings were reported near Saanich Plaza and Hillside Mall, according to the website.
