WATCH: The Victoria Royals simply couldn’t keep up with the Kelowna Rockets at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre on Monday afternoon, falling by a score of 5-2.

The Royals loss comes after a road trip to the interior against the Prince George Cougars, and fatigue may have been a factor for Victoria, as they couldn’t keep up with the Rockets in the late stages of the game. Kaid Oliver scored a highlight-reel goal in the third period, beating the Kelowna defender wide, cutting to the net and out-waiting the Rockets netminder before depositing the puck in the back of the net for his team-leading 25th goal of the season. However, the Royals had no gas left in the tank after that goal, and the Rockets took over to secure the win. The Royals look to bounce back into the win column against those same Rockets on Tuesday night.
