Royals fall to Rockets in Kelowna

WATCH: After taking both games at home on the weekend, the Victoria Royals fell to the Kelowna Rockets, 5-4 on the road Monday afternoon.

The Royals would get off to a good start.

Matthew Phillips would score his 42nd goal of the season on a penalty shot, and the Royals would find themselves tied at two apiece after the first period.

The Rockets would own the second period, scoring three goals to take a 5-3 lead after forty minutes. Andrei Grishakov scored midway through the third period to bring the Royals within one, but Victoria couldn’t find the equalizer, as the Rockets would go on to win the game 5-4. Vancouver Canucks prospect Kole Lind gave the Royals issues all night long, scoring two goals and adding an assist.

The Royals now return home to host the Edmonton Oil Kings on Wednesday night.
