Rock City Elementary in Nanaimo added to COVID exposure list

Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District says Rock City Elementary School in Nanaimo has had a potential COVID exposure event on Jan. 27.

The Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District says Rock City Elementary School has experienced a COVID-19 exposure.

School District 68 says the potential exposure date is January 27 and Island Health is conducting contact tracing.

Rock City is the latest Nanaimo school to experience a potential exposure event, with Qwam Qwum Stuwixwulh School and Bayview Elementary School recently added to the Island Health school exposures page.

Qwam Qwum Stuwixwulh had potential exposure on Jan. 28 and Bayview Elementary exposures are on Jan. 27 & 29.

Other schools listed by Island Health, with exposure dates, include:

  • Cowichan Secondary School, Duncan – January 25, 26, 27 and 28
  • Chemainus Secondary School – January 25, 26, 27 and 28
  • Crofton Elementary School – January 25 and 27
  • View Royal Elementary – January 27
  • Lake Cowichan School, Lake Cowichan – January 20, 21, 22 and 25
  • École Ballenas Secondary School, Parksville – January 22 and 25
  • École Macaulay Elementary, Victoria – January 20, 21, and 22
  • Woodwinds PASS Alternate School, Parksville – January 20, 21 and 22
  • Shawnigan Lake School – January 18, 19 and 20
